In April of 2019, I traveled to Vermont to surprise my boyfriend while he was playing a show as part of a 10 day tour.

Leaving from Montréal, I drove for five hours in freezing rain and sleet and was basically hydroplaning the whole time but there was no way I was turning around.

When I finally arrived at the venue, I discovered that the tires on my 2004 Subaru were almost completely bald. I was stuck in Vermont until I could acquire new tires. 

I stayed alone at his home in the woods of southern Vermont for a few days. On the first night, whilst eating a pizza, missing him and fearing the unknown creatures of the woods, I came up with this song that fell from the sky like a meteor.

I called it “Pizza For One.”
